When and How to Use Furniture Polish With Soft Cloth Wipers
Use furniture polish as often as the wood appears to need it.

Use Cotton Rags with This Formula for Odor removal
Use Cotton Rags with This Formula for Odor removal
For all odors, the first thing you should do is to remove the cause of the odor.
To remove smoke film from washable surfaces, use a solution of heavy-duty cleaner or degreaser. A dash of water-soluble deodorizer from a janitorial supply store added to the solution will help neutralize the odor. For smoky windows, add one part isopropyl alcohol to five parts window cleaner to help cut the oily film.
Smoke on porous surfaces is a tougher proposition. Light smoke film on acoustic ceiling tile can be removed by professional ceiling cleaners, but heavy buildup usually requires painting or replacement of the tile. Upholstered furniture, draperies and carpeting can be wet- or dry-cleaned, as appropriate, after a thorough vacuuming, with water-soluble deodorizer added to the cleaning solution to control residual smoke odor.
If you smoke in the home, change the filter in their air circulation systems often.
Also, make sure you let the sun in to help dissipate smoke and other odors as you try to eliminate the cause. Try to increase air flow by opening windows, turning on fans or even putting particularly smelly items outside for awhile. You can fill small dishes with vanilla, vinegar or activated charcoal for an easy, inexpensive smoke eater. Or, you can purchase odor neutralizer from a janitorial supply house which will work more effectively.

Squeegee Windows Then Wipe the Edges with A Wiping Rag
Squeegee Windows Then Wipe the Edges with A Wiping Rag
The best way to clean windows, or any large expanse of glass, is with a squeegee. It does a faster and better job.
You need a professional-quality squeegee and a window wand. If you'll be cleaning high windows, you also will need an extension pole. The basic process is simple - apply the cleaning solution with the window wand and pull the dirt and water off with the squeegee.
In detail.
1. Mix a capful of ammonia or five drops of liquid dish detergent in two gallons of water. Resist the urge to use too much detergent; that causes streaking.
2. Dip your window scrubbing wand or a sponge 3/4 of an inch into the solution, picking up just enough water to wet the window without flooding it. Wet the entire window then go back over it once to loosen any stubborn soil. Last, run the scrubber against the frame on all sides of the window to pick up any dirt you've pushed against the frame.
3. Dampen the squeegee blade before you start and wipe it with a damp cloth between strokes. A dry blade will skip and jump on the window instead of gliding smoothly.
4. Tilt the squeegee at an angle so that only about an inch of the rubber blade presses lightly against the top of the window glass. Then pull the squeegee across the window horizontally. This will leave a 1-inch dry strip across the top of the window. By squeegeeing across the top first, you eliminate drips running down.
5. Place the squeegee close to the frame in the dry area near the top and pull down to about three inches from the bottom of the glass. Continue this way across the window, overlapping into the clean, dry area with each stroke, and wiping the blade with a damp cloth after each stroke.
6. Finish with a horizontal stroke across the bottom and wipe any water off the sill with a damp cloth.
On some windows, it's easier to cut the water off the frame side as well as the top, and then squeegee the entire pane using horizontal strokes. Large (picture) windows should be wet and squeegeed half at a time, the top half first. Finally, if you're cleaning both the inside and outside of the window, squeegee horizontally on one side and vertically on the other, so you can tell whether any streaks are inside or out.
Large (picture) windows should be wet and squeegeed half at a time, the top half first.
Finally, if you're doing both the inside and outside the window, you may want to squeegee horizontally on one side and vertically on the other, so you can tell whether any streaks are inside or out.

Cotton Wipers From Recycled Clothing

Manufacturing Process of Cloth Wipers and Rags
Cloth Wipers are any type of woven textile material that absorbs liquid. Cotton Rag Manufacturers provide Cloth Wipers to business and industry.
Everyday, they Grade and Sort thousands of pounds of clean used clothing according to the type of material and color, such as denim, sweatshirt/fleece, flannel material etc. The material is then cut into economical wiping rags after removing any buttons or zippers. The final step is packaging the cut material either in boxes or bales for shipment to business and industry.
The reason for Grading and Sorting the used clothing is to match the material to the application. For example, a “Corduroy” wiper works well to wipe heavy grease from a fitting, while a “T-Shirt Knit” wiper will absorb oil and other liquids better.

Do Not Remove Grease and Oil from Fabrics with Cloth Wipers
Do Not Remove Grease and Oil from Fabrics with Cloth Wipers
To deal with a grease stain, you need to know whether it is from animal oil, vegetable oil or automotive. Be aware that grease and oil can leave a semitransparent stain that turns dark from all the soil it attracts. To remove a grease stain, first remove as much of the greasy substance as possible without forcing the grease further down into the fabric fibers. Use a paper towel to blot and absorb all the grease that you can. Next apply a drawing agent such as baking soda, cornstarch or talcum powder. Rub it in and let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes to allow it to absorb and draw the grease out of the fabric. Brush the powder off thoroughly and check the stain. If it looks like you can absorb more grease repeat the process.
Sometimes grease stains can be stubborn and we need to fall back on the idea that grease removes grease. Therefore, you want to spray the grease spot with WD-40 Lubricant and let it soak for 10 minutes and then work in undiluted dishwashing liquid and work well between your thumbs. Flush with the hottest water you can for the fabric, pre-treat and launder as usual. Do not use this method on silk or crease-resistant finishes.

Although it might appear that reusable, rental shop rags are
environmentally preferable all is not how it appears.
environmentally preferable all is not how it appears.
From an environment standpoint, there are a number of
advantages to using disposable
wipers--advantages for you and your business, your employees, and for the
preservation of the earth’s valuable resources.
An independent study of
the relative benefit of disposable wipers
and rented shop rags conducted by Project Performance Corporation, an
environmental consulting firm, shows that for variety of reasons, disposable wipers are the preferred
choice.
Utilizing three parameters--energy used, water used, and waste
produced--a life cycle analysis was conducted. To be consistent with EPA
guidelines, the life cycles of both disposable wipers and rented shop rags
spanned four phases: Raw Material Acquisition, Manufacturing, Industrial Usage,
and Post Usage. All types of disposable wipers use less water and generate less
waste than laundered shop rags. And many disposable wipers can be used more than once,
thus increasing water conservation and further reducing waste
production.
Disposable wipers made
from recycled textiles use less energy than rented shop rags. They also
contribute 30 percent less waste to landfills than rented shop rags.
In a
related study, Lockheed/Martin Environmental Services reported to the EPA Office
of Solid Waste:Disposable wipers made from
recycled or waste materials have a lower overall environmental impact when
compared to rental rags, due primarily to the re-use of materials that would
normally be discarded.
The amount of landfill space occupied by disposable wipers is so small that solid waste
studies can not identify a percentage number that wipers contribute to the
landfill. The sludge resulting from cleaning rental rags may actually be more of
an environmental threat in the landfill due to the concentrated contaminants and
increased potential for leaking into groundwater.
When large numbers of
wipers are collected in one area, such as
at a rental laundry prior to washing, the evaporation of volatile solvents found
on the wipers can result in unhealthy air conditions.
All disposable wipers have less negative impact on
the environment than rental shop rags.
